What is an online public foreclosure notice or posting?

An online public notice or posting is just that: it's often a statutorily or otherwise required notice that must be posted in a manner that is publicly viewable to the general population. Often, online public notices or postings must be posted for a specific amount of time, which can vary by jurisdiction.

What is the process and fee for re-posting a foreclosure notice?

In some instances, foreclosure sales may be cancelled, which can potentially trigger the removal and subsequent re-posting of a foreclosure notice. In instances where a foreclosure notice must be reposted within one year of the original posting date, institutional clients may be eligible for a reduced re-posting fee.

What is the difference between newspaper publication and online notice?

Newspaper publications are print publications and often must be printed for a specific amount of time, include certain statutorily required language, and the newspaper printing the publication are often required to be the "newspaper of record" associated with the contents of the notice; for real estate or individuals, it's often required that the newspaper be the paper of record for the county where the real property is located or where the individual in question is known to reside.

Online notices are supportive or additional notices for general public awareness and may also be required by law in certain jurisdictions. Third-party internet posting companies are not generally tied to specific county requirements as newspaper publishers are.

Are online public notices required by law?

In certain jurisdictions and for particular areas of notice, yes, online public notices may be required. You should check your local statutes or consult an attorney regarding the local posting or publication requirements in your jurisdiction. Nothing on this website constitutes legal advice.

Do I have to pay to view online notices posted by CCP?
